Aspire Training in conjunction with NSW Training is delivering funded training to skill new entrant disability workers to meet the employment gaps experienced in the disability and Home and Community Industries. We have identified in conjunction with some providers key skills, checks and requirements to ensure we get and train the right people so they are available for interview and employment when you need staff. The training and sourcing of this staff is fully funded by NSW Government. Our first training program goes live at the end of this month with staff available for interview (or trial, covered by our insurance) in mid May.
We are holding an information session for employers in this industry to communicate this program and to gather feedback to ensure the program content is exactly what you are seeking in your workforce. Your attendance and contribution at this 1 hour session would be greatly appreciated. There will be members from NSW Training, a NSW Apprenticeship centre ( who will be communicating current financial funding available to employers) and Aspire Training. Our aim is to get this right so we can replicate this program continuously to build a pool of skilled staff on which the Newcastle and Hunter Disability and Home and Community Providers can seek and draw staff as part of their recruitment process. Please note there is no cost to employers for any component of this program, you have the choice if you want to interview, trial (if desired) and hire the candidates. They then become your employee. Candidates will come to you with a part qualification in the Certificate III in Individual Support with the industry checks completed, candidates will continue training one day per month to obtain their full qualification so they can become fully qualified.
